Weekend with Ali

Ali has really opened up and settled in. Her quiet but happy little personality is really starting to show now. She is allowed complete access to the house while I'm away but usually prefers to settle down on one of the dog beds upstairs in the bedroom. There are no bad habits in this little lady. She likes to play with the other dogs, but mostly she likes to hang out with the people. She would be a Greyt pet for a first time greyhound family as she is a wonderful and very easy little greyhound to have around. I've also noticed that she may have had some training that I'm exploring - she does a perfect 'Down' on command so we will look for other key words that she knows. She also has the cutest little quirk - when I give her a treat she gently takes it and runs into the living room and eats it on one of the runners - not exciting I know - but when she eats it she does it in a play bow position - front legs laying on the ground and little rear end sticking up in the air! I've tried to get pictures but haven't been able to capture that one yet.

If you are looking for a calm, easy pet to ease your way into greyhound adoption ask about Ali !!

Ali's first night

Ali came home with me yesterday afternoon and was a little uncertain coming into a house full of greyhounds! She accepted them as the little lady she is, no drama! We walked around in the back yard on leash to make sure she understood the pool then went back in for a treat and a nap. I setup the x-pen in the bedroom with her own dog bed and she fell right asleep. Last night she hung out in the living room and then came right up to bed when called. What a sweet girl she is! A joy to have in the house and as a foster. She woke me up this morning with little noises letting me know it was time to get up and go out! After breakfast and 'business' outside she took herself back upstairs and back into the xpen and her bed all on her own. She is truely 'Cat Safe' as my cautious kitty will tell you and breath a sigh of relief! This little girl is as sweet as can be and as promised a 'No Issues' pet.
